  • Professor Ian Ramsay reappointed to the Takeovers Panel
                   
    The Minister for Superannuation and Corporate Law has announced that Professor Ian Ramsay has been reappointed to the Takeovers Panel

  • Professor Ian Ramsay appointed to the ASIC External Advisory Panel

    In January 2009, Professor Ian Ramsay was appointed to the Australian Securities and Investments Commission External Advisory Panel. The purpose of the Panel (which is a new body) is to provide ASIC with “very senior advice from the financial services industry in order to help ASIC meet its statutory objectives. The Panel will assist ASIC in gaining a deeper understanding of developments and systemic risks within the financial services industry which are likely to have implications for:

    (a) the integrity of capital markets:
    (b) consumers of financial services and products and investors:
    (c) international capital flows; and
    (d) systemic stability within the financial system.”

  • Professor Ian Ramsay appointed expert advisor to the Parliament of Victoria Scrutiny of Acts and Regulations Committee 

    In 2008, Professor Ian Ramsay was appointed an expert advisor to the Parliament of Victoria Scrutiny of Acts and Regulations Committee and provided advice to the Committee in relation to its inquiry into the repeal of certain corporations law

  • ASIC Honours Corporate Law Academics




    The Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) has named rooms in its new Victorian offices after Professor Ian Ramsay, Director of the Centre for Corporate Law and Securities Regulation at the University of Melbourne (pictured with ASIC Chairman, Mr Jeffrey Lucy) and Emeritus Professor Harold Ford, former Dean of the University of Melbourne Law School. The rooms are two of several meeting rooms at the recently-opened premises named after "prominent Victorians who have made a significant contribution to the life of ASIC or to corporate law, regulatory reform or business".
